The trees were here long before us. There are trees standing in Atlanta that were here during the Civil War. Trees that your grandparents might have planted – perhaps even their grandparents.
These trees give us a lot. Our comfort, well-being and sense of place depend on them.
We owe them a lot in return.
They cannot speak for themselves and need us to be their voice. We must protect them, invite more of them to our community and treat them as the symbol of Atlanta that they are.
